Report: Deceased Found for Missing ‘Bitcoin Millionaire’ and ONFO Coin Co-Founder
According to recent reports, the lifeless body of Dr. John Forsyth, co-founder of ONFO coin, a referral-based cryptocurrency venture, has been discovered, indicating an apparent gunshot wound. This discovery comes approximately one week after Forsyth went missing, although law enforcement officials currently do not suspect any foul play.
The unsettling events unfolded when Forsyth, a passionate advocate for cryptocurrency and an emergency room physician, failed to appear for his scheduled shift at Mercy Hospital in Cassville, Missouri, on May 21. His concerned family promptly launched a social media campaign to locate him.
Speaking with The Daily Beast during that time, Forsyth’s younger brother, Richard Forsyth, expressed deep concern, noting that John would never miss a shift, raising immediate suspicions. The situation grew more troubling as authorities found Forsyth’s sedan parked less than a mile away from the hospital on May 28.
To their surprise, law enforcement discovered Forsyth’s wallet, passport, laptop, and work briefcase within the unlocked vehicle. Richard Forsyth added, somewhat bewildered, “his cell phones were inside, which is also very uncharacteristic because he always has his cell phone.”
Richard Forsyth further remarked to the Associated Press on May 30 that the evidence did not suggest a premeditated plan by his brother to disappear. The circumstances remained puzzling as John Forsyth’s lifeless body was found on May 30, approximately one hour south of his last known location, exhibiting signs of an apparent gunshot wound. Local police authorities assert that foul play does not appear to be a contributing factor in his demise.
At the age of 49, John Forsyth co-founded ONFO coin alongside his brother Richard in 2020. The crypto project claims to offer users the opportunity to earn coins by referring others to the platform, referring to this process as “network mining.”
ONFO coin has sought to raise awareness by sharing videos depicting the potential demise of the U.S. dollar, such as their 2021 YouTube upload titled “THE U S DOLLAR IS DOOMED.” It is worth noting that no new videos have been published for the past year.
Back in 2020, Forbes recognized John Forsyth as a “Bitcoin millionaire” who pursued mathematics during his undergraduate studies and developed an early fascination with Bitcoin (BTC) and blockchain technology.
Unfortunately, Forsyth now joins a disconcerting list of cryptocurrency advocates and founders who have passed away under mysterious circumstances. In April, Bob Lee, the creator of Cash App and former technology chief at Square, met a tragic end in a stabbing attack. While authorities made an arrest on April 13, they refrained from commenting on the motive behind the assault.
