Renault and Airbus are working together to make a new generation of batteries for electric cars.
Airbus, a European plane company, and Renault, a French car company, announced on Wednesday that they will work together to create a new generation of electric batteries for both cars and planes.
Airbus said in a statement that engineering teams from both companies will work together to improve energy storage technologies. This is one of the biggest problems with making long-range electric cars.
Gilles Le Borgne, Renault’s EVP for engineering, said, “For the first time, two European leaders from different industries are sharing engineering knowledge to shape the future of hybrid-electric aircraft.” “The aviation and car industries are both very demanding when it comes to safety and how much energy they use.”

The collaboration will focus on improving how energy is managed and making batteries lighter. It will also look at the whole life cycle of future batteries and measure their carbon footprint.
