Punjab PML-N legislators file a no-trust motion

LAHORE, Pakistan (AFP) —A no-confidence resolution against Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar was put forward by the opposition in the Punjab Assembly on Monday in an effort to get rid of him.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MPA (MPA) is said to have put forward the motion of no confidence against CM Usman Buzdar.

Also, the opposition wants the Punjab Assembly to meet so that the no-confidence resolution can be presented.

It’s important to point out that after a vote of no emphasis is filed, the Chief Minister can’t dissolve the Punjab Assembly in line with the law.

Whereas the Speaker of the House is required to convene an Assembly session within 14 days following the filing of a resolution of no confidence against the Chief Minister.

Previously, opposition parties tabled a no-confidence resolution against Prime Minister (PM), Imran Khan, on March 8, after the Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) lengthy march in Islamabad. The opposition is sure that their resolution will be adopted since a number of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) legislators have spoken out openly against Prime Minister Imran Khan.

As the important no-confidence motion session approaches, political relationships remain shrouded in ambiguity.
