producer of Ray-Bans EssilorLuxottica’s sales is increasing as Asia-Pacific recovers.

EssilorLuxottica, an eyewear company, reported a rise in third-quarter revenue on Friday, citing a rebound in Asia-Pacific sales as the reason.

The manufacturer of Oakley and Ray-Ban spectacles reported sales of 6.39 billion euros ($6.24 billion) for the three months ending September 30, an 8.2% increase over the same period last year.

With a 22.7% increase in revenue at constant exchange rates to 761 million euros, Asia-Pacific was the group’s fastest-growing area in the quarter.

After a poor second-quarter performance impacted by COVID-19 lockdowns in mainland China, EssilorLuxottica reported that the retail business in the area, in particular, experienced a good recovery.

At constant currency rates, North America, the company’s largest market, saw an increase in sales of 3.4%, or $3.01 billion. According to the group, the direct-to-consumer sector was responsible for this increase.

EssilorLuxottica, for example, produces eyewear for Chanel and Prada (OTC: PRDSY).

As U.S. consumers took advantage of the dollar’s strength in Europe and China, making a big comeback, Birkin bag maker Hermes said on Thursday that there were no signs of a slowdown yet. This was similar to what Louis Vuitton owner LVMH had said earlier, dismissing worries that the luxury industry’s post-pandemic boom could be slowing because of a coming recession.

The long-term view that was given in March and reaffirmed at EssilorLuxottica’s Capital Market Day last month was stated again.
