President Arif Alvi advocates for the advancement of information technology education.
ISLAMABAD: President Dr. Arif Alvi has emphasised the need to develop IT-related education in order to further the country’s growth.
He said this at the 14th convocation of Sarhad University of Science and Technology in Islamabad on Monday. He said that the globe will need over eighty million workers in the area of cyber security alone by 2030.
Additionally, the President called for a paradigm change in the education sector, stating that online education should be fostered to significantly increase the supply of IT qualified workers.
He was excited about the Higher Education Commission’s policy on online education, and said that it would also cut down on the cost of education.
President Arif Alvi said that the Chinese side indicated interest in relocating the chip manufacturing unit to Pakistan within a year during the Prime Minister’s visit to Beijing. Given the needs in the information technology industry, he said, we must generate workers quickly.
While advising youngsters to strive to be achievers, the President advised them to maintain vigilance and avoid allowing the country’s disintegration. He said that Pakistan was waging a successful battle against terrorism. He said that for forty years, we have welcomed millions of Afghan refugees. He said that such hospitality has no precedent in the world and that our people should be proud of it.
