In India, a 12-year-old boy was arrested for raping and sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl.

The adolescent became pregnant and delivered a child.

The boy has been arrested based on the victim’s statements, and police are investigating whether any other individuals are involved as well.

Previously, the accused and victim were classmates and neighbours. When the girl was admitted to the hospital with stomach pains, she was informed that she was nine months pregnant. She delivered a baby that same day.

The hospital contacted all-female police, who interviewed the teen. The juvenile has been placed in a Thanjavur juvenile home.

“We used scientific methods and a DNA test to figure out the boy’s age,” a police inspector said in the report.
