SMIC, a Chinese chip foundry, will spend $7.5 billion in Tianjin. 

Shanghai Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp (SMIC) of China announced on Friday the signing of a framework agreement for a 12-inch foundry manufacturing line in Tianjin with a registered capital of $5 billion and a planned investment of $7.5 billion.
