Pakistan,s elected president of UN Economic nd Social Council for the sixth time

Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Munir Akram was on Thursday consistently chose as the leader of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) for the year 2020-21.

This is the 6th time that Pakistan has been chosen as the ECOSOC president and the second time that Ambassador Akram has been chosen for this post, having filled in as its leader in 2005. The main other emissary to have had this qualification was Juan Somavía of Chile, as indicated by an announcement gave by the Pakistani strategic the UN in New York.

The 54-Member ECOSOC is the third head UN organ, alongside the General Assembly and Security Council, set up in 1945 to advance worldwide monetary participation and manage crafted by all global financial associations.
