‘Pakistani students will be removed from Ukraine if the mob at the border becomes too dense’

JACOBABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said on Monday that Pakistani students will be evacuated from Ukraine once the crowds at the border dwindle, as the Ukrainian foreign minister reported that millions of people were trapped at the border.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi told the Sindh Huqooq Rally in Jacobabad that he had talked to his Ukrainian friend, who told him that some Pakistani students didn’t have the correct paperwork, which meant they couldn’t travel.

He said that Ukraine has 3, 000 Pakistani students. He said that the students were told to go to western Ukraine since the situation was better in that region.

In addition, the foreign minister said that the Ukrainian FM was in talks with other countries so that citizens could be evacuated.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s embassy in Ukraine said that it was doing everything it could to get the trapped Pakistanis out of Ukraine as soon as possible, even though the Russian-Ukrainian conflict was getting worse and worse.

According to the embassy, the mission has created several lines of contact for the assistance and evacuation of Pakistani citizens.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said during the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) rally that they took to the streets to preserve people’s rights. He asked Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for information about how his party did in Sindh during its 15-year rule there.

He asked former President Asif Ali Zardari to meet with Prime Minister Imran Khan to talk about the government and other things.

He also said that Prime Minister Imran Khan will address the nation this evening. In his speech, Imran Khan said that he intended to make a significant announcement at his speech.
