Miftah for improving ties with the United Kingdom
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (APP): – Miftah Ismail, the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, said on Wednesday that Pakistan and the United Kingdom should work together to strengthen their historic ties. This would be good for both countries.
According to a press release published by the finance ministry, the minister was speaking with British High Commissioner Dr. Christian Turner, who paid him a visit together with Development Team leader Ms. Annabel Gerry at Finance.
The statement noted that the meeting was also attended by the Secretary of Finance.
The Federal Minister greeted the British High Commissioner with a big smile and talked about a lot of things that were important to both of them.
The finance minister told the ambassador about the new government’s broad economic plan and goals. He said that the goal of the current administration is to keep the economy and the budget stable, which would lead to economic recovery and growth.
Christian Turner, the British High Commissioner, said that the government of the United Kingdom congratulated and wished the new minister well as wished the new government well.
He said that both nations have good business ties that would be bolstered further. He promised the minister the British government’s and people’s unwavering support.
The finance minister also thanked the British High Commissioner for his help and collaboration, according to the news release.
