Italian electric vehicle (EV) startup Aehra introduces a luxurious sedan model
Italian startup Aehra has unveiled its latest offering, a premium sedan, solidifying its presence in the electric vehicle (EV) market. This sedan joins Aehra’s previously showcased sport-utility vehicle, and both models are set to commence production in 2026. With a price range of 160,000 to 180,000 euros ($175,000 to $197,000), Aehra is targeting the high-premium and luxury segment.
According to Hazim Nada, Aehra’s co-founder and CEO, the European market still favors local brands for the high-end segment. Nada emphasized that Aehra’s vehicles cater to this preference. The sedan, like the SUV, boasts impressive specifications such as a top speed of 265 kmph and a range exceeding 800 km.
Initial deliveries of the sedan are expected in 2026, starting in key markets such as the United States, Italy, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Aehra intends to initiate preorders next year. Full-scale production is projected to commence in late 2027, targeting an annual output of 25,000 vehicles for each model.
Notably, both the sedan and SUV are native EVs, developed from the ground up rather than being based on internal combustion platforms. Aehra has attracted talent from renowned automakers Lamborghini and Ferrari for its design and engineering teams. The company plans to invest a total of 750 million euros in its operations.
Regarding production, Aehra is evaluating options, including collaborating with a contract manufacturer in central or northern Europe in the short term. Alternatively, establishing a new facility or renovating an existing one in Italy is a possibility, provided there is support from state funds. A decision on this matter is expected by the end of the year.
Aehra is actively developing its supply chain and recently secured a deal with Austria’s Miba Battery Systems for customized 120 kWh NMC (nickel manganese cobalt) batteries. This partnership will ensure reliable battery supply for Aehra’s EV lineup.
