IPL 2022: BCCI announces bubble regulations, imposing severe penalties for violations

The BCCI has said that COVID-19 is a big problem for people’s health, and that everyone should follow the rules and laws that are already in place.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season will begin on March 26, 2022. In addition, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has set out the rules of the tournament in advance.
Additionally, the BCCI has indicated that if a player’s family member or a match official violates the guidelines, they will face serious repercussions. The board has emphasised that COVID-19 poses a major hazard to people’s health and that everyone should follow the tournament’s rules and regulations.
According to Cricbuzz, “The COVID-19 pandemic presents a major danger to individual health, and each person subject to these operational rules’ participation, dedication, and adherence to the measures put in place to provide a safe environment is critical,” the BCCI said, according to Cricbuzz.
What happens if certain IPL rules are violated?
Additionally, the BCCI has stated plainly what would happen if the regulations are not followed. For the first offence, a player will be placed in a seven-day quarantine and will not be compensated for missing matches.
For a second offence, the player will be banned for one match and will not be compensated for his absence. As a result, if the player commits the same offence a third time, he is kicked out of the team and the club can’t look for a new player.
Additionally, the BCCI announced that if an IPL franchise is unable to gather a minimum of 12 players before an IPL match, the match would be rescheduled at the IPL Technical Committee’s discretion. The IPL’s 2022 season will begin with a match between reigning champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
