Hamza submits a petition for elections to fill the Punjab Chief Minister vacancy.

LAHORE:  Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, head of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), filed a constitutional suit at the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday,

According to the information, the lawsuit asks the court to examine the topic of Punjab’s Chief Minister (CM) elections, since the seat has been empty since April 1.

According to reports, the appeal also names the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, the Deputy Speaker, and others.

It is worth noting here that the petition in the LHC was filed following the Supreme Court’s rejection of the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly’s (NA) ruling rejecting a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan. National Assembly must meet again to vote on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s no-confidence motion. The Supreme Court has reinstated the National Assembly.

According to the Supreme Court’s verdict, “the prime minister lacked the authority to recommend to the president that the assembly be dissolved. All previous rulings have been declared null and void. ” The ruling from the highest court said: “If the no-confidence resolution against the prime minister is successful, the parliament will designate a new prime minister.”
