Tax on vehicle registration: The first automobile price hike, scheduled for 2022, has yet to be implemented. In the middle of it all, Sindh’s auto taxes have been hiked. According to a statement, the Sindh Excise and Taxation Department has quadrupled the automobile registration tax under the Finance (Supplementary) Act, 2022.
Cars with a displacement of up to 1000 cc
The tax on automobiles with a capacity of 1000 cubic centimetres or less has been increased by Rs 100,000. Previously, car owners in Sindh had to pay a Rs 50,000 registration charge. The following items will be subject to the new levy:

Cars with engines ranging from 1001 to 2000 cc
The new registration tax for automobiles with a cubic capacity of 1001 to 2000 cubic centimetres is Rs. 200,000. The new tax will apply to all types of commodities.

Automobiles with displacements of 2001cc and higher
Vehicle owners in Sindh will now have to pay Rs. 400,000 to register cars with engines larger than 2001cc, such as:

Hyundai Tucson
KIA Sportage
KIA Carnival
KIA Sorento
Proton X70
BAIC BJ40 Plus
The growing expense of autos has already enraged the people. If customers spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in registration fees, they will be forced to their knees.
Sindh has already increased its auto tax, and other provincial excise departments are expected to follow suit.
