In seven months, exports increased by 25.88% to $20.547 billion.
ISLAMABAD: Exports from Pakistan rose by 25.88 percent in the first seven months of this fiscal year (2021-22) compared to the same time last year, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics says.
According to PBS statistics, the country’s exports were $20.547 billion from July to February (2021–22), up from $16.323 billion in July-February (2020–21), a 25.88 percent increase.
Imports increased by 55.08 percent during the study period, rising from $33.858 billion in the previous year to $52.506 billion in July-February (2021-22).
Statistics show that the trade deficit during the review period was $31.959 billion, which is a lot more than the $17.535 billion deficit from July-February (2020-21).
Meanwhile, year on year, the country’s exports climbed by 35.78 percent in February 2022 compared to the same month the previous year. The report indicated that exports were $2.808 billion in February 2022, up from $2.068 billion in February 2020.
Imports increased by 28.30 percent from $4.601 billion in February 2021 to $5.903 billion in February 2022.
Compared to January 2022, February 2022 saw a 7.42 percent rise in exports from the country. This is compared to $2.614 billion in exports in January.
According to PBS statistics, imports into the country fell by 2.28 percent in February 2022, compared to $6.041 billion in January 2022.
