President Arif Alvi extends a cordial greeting to the President of Uzbekistan at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

ISLAMABAD – On the second day of his two-day official visit to Pakistan, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived at Aiwan-e-Sadr for a meeting with President Arif Alvi.

President Alvi greeted the dignitaries warmly and set up a meeting to talk about things that both countries care about.

Additionally, President Alvi held a luncheon for President Mirziyoyev and his entourage.

A few hours before this meeting, the President of Uzbekistan and Prime Minister Imran Khan talked about ways to strengthen and expand their strategic partnership in all areas.

Besides global and regional issues, the two presidents also agreed on how to improve international relations, such as reviving ties with the United Nations and other international groups.

Uzbekistan’s President said that he would support Pakistan’s proposal to set up a mechanism to help people who are poor during Uzbekistan’s presidency of the SCO.

The two leaders talked about how important it was to make cooperation between their countries official across the five pillars of Pakistan’s “Vision Central Asia,” which are political and diplomatic relations, trade and investment, energy and connectivity, security and defense, and people-to-people ties, among other things.
