According to a government agency, Honda will bring back 200,000 Chinese-made hybrid vehicles.

China’s State Administration for Market Regulation said in a statement on Thursday that Honda will recall just over 200,000 hybrid cars because some of them have problems with the brake pedal sensors.

A total of 105,608 hybrid cars made by the Japanese automaker’s joint venture with Dongfeng Motor Group Co (OTC:DNFGF) between October 8, 2018 and September 7, 2020 will be recalled. Another 95,081 hybrid cars made by Honda’s joint venture with Guangzhou Automobile Group Co. between August 27, 2018 and August 6, 2020 will also be recalled.

During the manufacturing process, lubricating oil was put into the brake pedal sensors, which could cause problems with the sensors over time. The recall would start on March 31, 2023, according to the statement.
