(Reuters)-Beijing- China’s exports increased 17.9 percent year on year in June, exceeding experts’ estimates as the economy strives to regain lost impetus from extended COVID lockdowns and supply chain problems, according to customs statistics released on Wednesday. Imports increased by 1.0 percent.
In a Reuters survey, analysts predicted that exports would rise 12.0 percent after rising 16.9 percent in May, while imports would rise 3.9 percent after rising 4.1 percent the previous month.
China posted a trade surplus of $97.94 billion in June, compared to the poll’s prediction of a $75.70 billion surplus and a $78.76 billion surplus in May.
