Buying and selling votes in parliament Article 6: Jaffar Ali

ISLAMABAD: The Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting, Senator Faisal Javed Khan, said on Sunday that those who buy and sell votes in parliament would be subject to Article 6 of the constitution, as this would not constitute constitutional change, but rather a betrayal of the constitution.

“It is a breach of the assembly member’s oath” (Article 65). “Article 62 might also be used in conjunction with Article 63, which would result in permanent disqualification,” Faisal Javed tweeted.

He said that the Supreme Court’s five-member panel decided on this matter in 2018.

The PTI senator responded to a tweet from Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Khawaja Asif, who said that the opposition was trying to change the constitution through a no-confidence vote.

“The main objective is to uphold the rule of law and the constitution. If the civil administration and police attempt to disrupt this constitutional process, Article 6 of the constitution becomes quite evident. It had been assured that it would be carried out. “God willing,” Khawaja Asif said.

People who use force or show force, or try to use force or show force, or do anything else that isn’t in line with the Constitution will be charged with high treason if they try to break the Constitution.

“(2) Anyone who helps or helps [or helps] with the activities in section (1) is also guilty of high treason.”
