Bangladesh chose an uncapped Shahriar for the Afghanistan T20s series.
Bangladesh included uncapped opening batsman Munim Shahriar in their 14-man Twenty20 squad on Tuesday for their upcoming two-match series against Afghanistan.
Shahriar, 23, scored 178 runs in six matches for Barishal in the recently ended Bangladesh Premier League T20 competition with a strike rate of 152.
Yasir Ali, who has yet to make his white-ball debut in Test cricket, has been selected. Liton Das, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Shakib Al Hasan have all returned to the Bangladesh Twenty20 squad after being absent from the country’s last match against Pakistan in November, when they were not in the team.
Najmaul Hossain, the opener, and wicketkeeper-batsman Nurul Hasan, the wicketkeeper-batsman, were dropped.
Beginning Wednesday in Chattogram and concluding with the Twenty20 in Mirpur on March 3 and 5, Afghanistan will face Bangladesh in three one-day internationals.
