Anti-Pakistan groups are attempting to stymie Pakistan’s economic progress: Sheikh Rashid
Sheikh Rashid Ahmad, Pakistan’s interior minister, says that anti-Pakistan groups are trying to stop economic growth in the country.
He was talking about Friday’s attack on a Peshawar mosque during prayers on a private TV station.
The minister called the bombing a “great tragedy” and asked the people to work together to defeat the enemy.
He said, when someone asked him about the terrorist activities, that no group had claimed responsibility for them.
“It is premature to pin blame on Daesh at this point since the investigations are ongoing.”
At least 56 people were killed and 194 more injured in a suicide assault on a mosque in Peshawar, Pakistan, the country’s bloodiest incident since 2018.
The explosive ripped into the city’s Kocha Risaldar neighbourhood just before Friday prayers began, destroying the inside and strewing shattered glass over the streets.
