ALI SETHI, NEW SONG RUNG
Sethi and the late Shakeel Sohail have formed the melody, while the music creation is all Sethi. Chief Umar Riaz has made a music video for Rung that is both assorted and straightforward. It doesn’t have showy scenes or arranged moves, yet its effortlessness resounds. The melody is about adoration adding shading to our lives and being a wellspring of harmony.
Shot in Lahore and New York, the initial scene highlights Sethi in Times Square, a young lady, an older couple, two transsexual ladies, a couple of youngsters and two young ladies in Lahore. Each character appears to have a story that reverberates in the verses. For instance, we see the old man appreciating vinyl records, most likely thinking back about the past, when Sethi sings, “Tum affirmative tou yeh rung hai, tumsey howdy hai qarar [You carry tone to my reality, you put my spirit at peace]”.
Sethi has remained consistent with conventional melodic roots and the music for Rung is a mix of a surmandal. harmonium and tabla.
