According to the Nikkei, Aplpe intends to use TSMC’s latest chip technology in its iPhones and Macs.
The Nikkei Asia newspaper said on Wednesday that Apple Inc. plans to use an updated version of Taiwanese chipmaker TSMC’s latest chip-making technology in iPhones and Macbooks next year.
The A17 mobile processor, which is currently in development, will be mass-produced using TSMC’s N3E chipmaking technology. It is expected to be available in the second half of next year, the report said, citing people with knowledge of the situation. (https://s.nikkei.com/3eMNG6i)
It is also said that the A17 will be used in the high-end iPhone that will come out in 2023.

Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) didn’t want to say anything, and TSMC didn’t answer Reuters’s request for a comment right away.
The current model of iPhone has an A15 processor chip, and Apple said at its recent launch event that iPhone 14 Pro models will also have the same.
The chipmaker controls about 54% of the global market for chips made under contract. Companies like Apple and Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM) Inc. are among its customers.
