A big business grows by 7% in 3 quarters and by 26.9% in March 2022.
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said Friday that production in the Large Scale Manufacturing Industries (LSMI) grew by 7% in the first three quarters of the current fiscal year (2021-22) compared to the same time last year.
According to the most recent PBS data, the LSMI Quantum Index Number (QIM) was 161.2 points from July to March 2021-22, up from 150.7 points from July to March 2020-21. This shows a growth of 7%.
The Ministry of Industries’ indexes increased by 6% from July to March 2021-22.The indices tracked by the Provincial Board of Statistics (BOS) grew by 0.9 percent, and the products tracked by the Oil Companies Advisory Committee grew by 0.1 percent (OCAC).
According to the most recent data from PBS, the industry grew by 26.9% from March 2021 to March 2022.
During July–March 2021–22, the textile industry grew by 1.6%, food, beverages, and tobacco by 17.4%, coke and petroleum products by 1.1%, pharmaceuticals by 4.6%, chemicals by 7.1%, cars by 26.8%, iron and steel products by 21.5%, fertilizer by 3.2%, paper and board by 8.5%, and wood products by 157.5%.
Non-metallic mineral products (down 2.4%), electronics (8.4%), leather products (down 3.3%), engineering products (down 3.8%), and rubber products (down 3.8%) were among the things that were lost value (20.6 percent ).
It’s important to know that the provisional QIM is being calculated based on the most recent production data from OCAC, the Ministry of Industries and Production (MoIP), and PBS.
