ISLAMABAD: The number of Pakistanis visiting the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to look for work has increased by 128%.
According to the report of the Bureau of Immigration and Overseas Employment (BE&OE), compared to the entire year 2021, there has been an increase of 128% in the number of Pakistanis seeking employment in the UAE in the first five months of this year 2022.
In all of last year 2021, the number of Pakistanis who registered with BE&OE was 27 thousand 442, but this year, by the end of May 2022, this number increased to 62 thousand 615. In this way, compared to the whole year 2021, in the first 5 months of this year 2022 only, the number of Pakistanis going to the United Arab Emirates in search of employment has been recorded by 35 thousand 173, i.e., a 128% increase.
