WhatsApp intends to launch a conversation filter function.

Following the success of its introduction in corporate accounts, Meta-owned instant messaging software WhatsApp plans to add the option to filter messages to normal accounts, according to WABetainfo.

WhatsApp announced enhanced search filters for business accounts on WhatsApp beta for Android, iOS, and Desktop last year by introducing some easy filters to rapidly identify certain messages.

However, because this function is only available to companies, normal WhatsApp accounts cannot use it to filter messages.

This functionality will be available for regular accounts in the upcoming update, according to the WhatsApp news tracker.

“As shown in the picture, the filter button is available to business accounts when touching the search bar on the desktop, making it easier to search for unread chats, contacts, non-contacts, and groups,” the platform explained.

It also stated that ordinary WhatsApp accounts would be able to utilise the same functionality in a future app update, with the exception that “the filter option will be constantly displayed even when you are not looking for conversations and messages.”

According to WABetainfo, this functionality is being developed for ordinary WhatsApp accounts and will be available in a future version.
