ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s exports to the seven regional nations increased by 23.50 percent in the first three quarters of fiscal year 2021–22.
During July-March 2021-22, Pakistan exported $3440.687 million to seven regional countries: Afghanistan, China, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, and the Maldives.
China leads Pakistan’s exports to its neighbours, followed by Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
Pakistan conducted border commerce with Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, and the Maldives.
Exports to China jumped 51.27 percent to $2126.778 million from $1405.890 million last year, while exports to Bangladesh grew 47.94 percent to $648.936 million from $438.626 million.
Exports to Afghanistan fell by 50% to $369.382 million from $746.347 million, while exports to India fell by 54.21% to $1.006 million from $2.197 million.
According to the report, exports to Sri Lanka grew by 53.76 percent, to $284.717 million from $185.165 million, while exports to Nepal grew by 35.86 percent, to $4.792 million from $3.527 million.
Imports from seven regional nations, on the other hand, totaled $13392.465 million, up from $9465.576 million the previous year, a 41.48 percent increase.
Imports from China totaled $12987.0330 million in July-March 2021-22, up 43.17 percent from $9070.683 million in July-March 2020-21.
Imports from India decreased from $139.626 million to $139.334 million, while imports from Afghanistan increased 3.48 percent, from $127.455 million to $131.897 million.
Sri Lankan imports fell 3.38 percent to $62.936 million, while Bangladeshi imports fell to $72.617 million, up from $61.741 million last year.
Imports from Nepal increased by 24.25 percent, from $0.878 million to $1.091 million.
