At least 123 PTI MNAs resigned. Qasim Suri agreed to accept them.

This week in Islamabad: National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri agreed to accept resignations from 123 members of PTI’s National Assembly on Thursday.

Suri tweeted that he was the acting speaker of the NA when people resigned, and he had to accept them because they were in line with the rules of the body.

Secretary NA also sent out a notice about accepting resignations.

In an order signed by Qasim Suri, he said that 125 PTI MNAs resigned on April 11. To check the resignations, he looked at them. He came to a conclusion that all of the resignations, except for Prince Muhammad Nawaz Allai’s, NA-12, and Jawwad Hussain’s, NA-47, were voluntary and real.

So, based on that, I accept these 123 resignations and order that they be made public in the Gazette.

People from Imran Khan’s party resigned from the National Assembly on April 11 in order to vote for who would be its leader.

The decision to leave the assembly was made at the party’s parliamentary meeting on April 11. Imran Khan was in charge of the meeting. The party decided to focus on public protests against the new federal government.
