Protest in Peshawar: Come out to defend democracy and liberty. Imran Khan
Imran Khan, the former prime minister of Pakistan, has asked people in Peshawar to join a protest tomorrow against an alleged US-led plan to change the country’s government.
Following Khan’s ouster via a no-confidence motion, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) resigned from the national assembly (NA) yesterday, ahead of a vote to elect a new prime minister.
Imran Khan has said that he will try to get the country’s people to go to the polls right away after a lot of people responded to his protest call after he resigned on Sunday.
The first demonstration in the series will take place in Peshawar tomorrow, followed by Karachi on Sunday and Lahore on April 23.
Imran Khan claimed in a video message that a government backed by foreign powers has been imposed on the country, which he will discuss.

In his speech to the people of Peshawar, he stated that a nation preserves its freedom and democracy, something that the army or any foreign power cannot achieve.
“I’m coming to you [Peshawar], and together with you, we’re going to wage a campaign for immediate elections in Pakistan,” he stated.
