Shehbaz’s bail would have been revoked if he were a common man: Fawad
ISLAMABAD: According to Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, if PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif were an ordinary man, his bail would have been withdrawn by now since he was patrolling Islamabad rather than appearing in court.
“Shehbaz Sharif is sought by the court on corruption charges, and his bail plea is also pending,” he added, adding that “we cannot become a country unless the law is equally applied to the wealthy and poor.”
When the defence finished cross-examination of two prosecution witnesses on March 22, the case against Shehbaz and his family was over.
Was not in court: His lawyer said that Shehbaz was in Islamabad because a no-confidence motion had been filed against Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan in the National Assembly. Shehbaz didn’t show up for the hearing.
Additionally, the lawyer sought a one-time exemption from personal attendance on behalf of Shehbaz.
Although Presiding Judge Naseem Ahmad expressed disappointment about Shehbaz’s absence, he granted the motion.

Later, the attorney cross-examined two SECP officers who were testifying for the prosecution.
During the hearing, the court asked for more witnesses to be brought up for cross-examination. The hearing was pushed back until April 4.
The NAB said in this reference that Shehbaz’s family members and benamidars received bogus overseas remittances totaling billions in their personal bank accounts. Additionally, the agency said, billions of rupees were laundered through international pay orders and placed in the personal bank accounts of his sons Hamza and Suleman.
