Spotify, the Swedish streaming service, went down for more than an hour Tuesday due to an unexplained cause, the company claimed, as millions of customers worldwide reported being locked out and unable to get back in.
“Something is not quite right, and we are investigating. We appreciate your reports! “The firm announced the news on Twitter.
The firm said that service had been restored after around 90 minutes.
“Everything is looking much better now,” it said, without elaborating on the cause of the outage.
Thousands of users have complained on Twitter about their inability to connect to the app.
Spotify said that numerous other services were also impacted.
“Today, at 1:15 p.m. EST, Spotify and numerous other platforms had a short service interruption (1815 GMT). An AFP representative said that Spotify is back up and running regularly for the majority of customers as of 2:40 p.m. EST.
The corporation has a total user base of over 400 million, including 180 million paying members. (AFP)
