ISLAMABAD: Fawad Chaudhry, Minister of Information and Broadcasting, said on Wednesday that the opposition and some of its media supporters were outraged by the relief provided to citizens in the form of lower gasoline and power rates despite global inflation.
In a tweet, he said, “It’s odd that the opposition and its media allies are outraged by the decrease in fuel and power costs.”
The minister said that it was a positive indicator that inflation in Pakistan was declining significantly, in contrast to global market patterns.

“It should bring us joy, not stress. “The opposition’s true anguish is that they do not believe they will have a chance in the next shift (administration),” he observed.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced a historic price cut on petroleum goods and electricity in order to provide huge assistance to the populace.
In his Monday address to the country, he announced that petrol and diesel prices would be dropped by Rs10 per liter and electricity rates would be decreased by Rs5 per unit.
Additionally, the prime minister offered an Rs30,000-a-month internship for all unemployed graduates. He stated that 26,000 scholarships totaling Rs 38 billion will be awarded to deserving students.
