The US has alerted Pakistan about Ukraine’s ‘stance,’ according to the State Department.
A report from Reuters says that the US has told Pakistan that it doesn’t like that Russia is still taking over parts of Ukraine.
The US announcement came as Prime Minister Imran Khan prepared to go to Moscow on Wednesday for meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“We feel it is the obligation of every responsible nation on the planet to express alarm and opposition to what Putin looks to be planning for Ukraine,” Price said.
Imran Khan, Pakistan’s Prime Minister, visits Moscow.
Imran Khan, Pakistan’s prime minister, is on a tightrope because of the critical timing of his visit to Russia, which comes after President Vladimir Putin started a full-scale military operation in Ukraine on Thursday. Explosions could be heard across the country soon after.
The premier arrived in Moscow a day earlier as part of a two-day official visit to Russia at President Putin’s request. Igor Morgulov, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, met him at the airport.
He is the first Pakistani prime minister in two decades to visit Russia.
PM: Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, Amir Mahmood Kiani, Abdul Razak Dawood, Moeed Yusuf, and Amir Mahmood Kiani are with him. They are the federal ministers for commerce, national security, and MNA Amir Mahmood Kiani.
According to Radio Pakistan, the main event of the trip would be a meeting between Prime Minister Imran Khan and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Additionally, the Prime Minister is scheduled to visit Russia’s largest mosque and the Islamic Centre in Moscow. People who work for the government of Pakistan will also meet with senior Russian officials, including the Deputy Prime Minister as well as investors and businesses who work for the government.
PM Imran will discuss international and regional concerns with President Putin during his meeting with him. They will also discuss bilateral ties, with a particular emphasis on energy cooperation. Islamophobia will also be discussed, as will the situation in Afghanistan.
