Starting tomorrow, CNG supplies will be interrupted once again.

KARACHI: Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) supply has been interrupted for 72 hours once again, only two and a half months after it was restarted after a two-and-a-half month suspension, Bol news reported on Thursday.

Shoaib Khanji, Senior Vice Chairman of the All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA), said that Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has once again declared the suspension of CNG supplies. He said that the high-priced gas and its shutdown were part of a plan to destroy the CNG industry.

Sumair Najmal Hussain, spokesman for the All Pakistan Petroleum Retailers Association, said that the SSGC announced the 72-hour shutdown of CNG stations only after three days of supply. He said that the CNG stations would be closed from Friday morning till 8:00 a.m. on Monday.

On February 14, CNG filling stations throughout Sindh reopened after a two-and-a-half month closure.

On December 1, the CNG stations were closed. The ministry said in a statement that CNG supply will be maintained to RLNG stations as well.

Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) said on November 29 that it will stop gas supplies to CNG filling stations for two and a half months throughout the winter to fulfil increased demand from domestic users.
