Significant decrease in Pakistani exports during the Taliban regime

Under the Taliban regime in Afghanistan, Pakistani exports have declined significantly, which have a negative impact on the country’s economy.

The four months of the Taliban government in Afghanistan will end, where international relations of the Afghanistan government are determined and trade relations are not restored, while Pakistani exports fell 40% during the Taliban regime.

Additional Customs collector Muhammad Tayyab said that the Afghan banking system completely failed, no TT and the purchasing power of residents had also weakened.

Pakistan exported goods worth RS 27,702 million to Afgham through Torkham, Chaman, Ghulam Khan and Kharlachi under the Taliban regime from August 15 to November 15, compared to Rs 46,602 million in the same period last year.

Trader Mohammad Siddique Shinwari said countries in the region must start trading with Afghanistan in local currency.

Economists say that Pakistan, along with other countries in the region, can not only support the Afghan economic situation through a shared strategy, but also helps to eliminate bilateral trade barriers.
