Users of WhatsApp will reportedly be able to add audio notes to status updates.
WhatsApp, a popular messaging app, is developing a new feature that will let users attach voice notes to their status updates.
At the moment, WhatsApp users can tell their friends where they are by updating their status with photos, videos, and links.
The future functionality will initially be accessible to WhatsApp beta users on iOS, while it is still being developed for Android users.
The technology site posted a screenshot showing how the microphone icon looks in the status bar of the messaging app.

Users will be able to share a text status as well as a voice message that is up to 30 seconds long.
Note that voice status updates are always encrypted from start to finish and will only be sent to the people you choose in your privacy settings.
When this feature was made available to beta testers, it was said that the way it looked and how you got to it might have changed.
