Australia’s stock market is up at the end of the day; the S&P/ASX 200 is up 0.21.

After Thursday’s market close, shares in Australia went up because the energy, financial, and resources sectors all did better.

At the end of the day in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 went up by 0.21%.

Whitehaven Coal Ltd (ASX:WHC), which rose 4.60 percent or 0.39 points to trade at $8.87 at the end of the session, was the best performer on the S&P/ASX 200. In late trade, Woodside Energy Ltd. (ASX:WDS) rose 4.30 percent, or 1.39 points, to finish at 33.73, and Worley Ltd. (ASX:WOR) rose 3.68 percent, or 0.51 points, to 14.38.

South32 Ltd. (ASX:S32), which fell 7.18% or 0.31 points to close at 4.01, was the worst performer of the session. Nuix Ltd (ASX:NXL) fell 6.3%, or 0.05 points, to end the day at 0.77, and Nanosonics Ltd (ASX:NAN) fell 5.99%, or 0.24 points, to end the day at 3.77.

On the Sydney Stock Exchange, there were 709 stocks that went up, 628 that went down, and 398 that stayed the same.

Shares of Whitehaven Coal Ltd. (ASX:WHC) went up by 4.60 percent, or $0.39, to $8.87, which was an all-time high.

The implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, which is measured by the S&P/ASX 200 VIX, went down by 3.63% to 15.73.

Gold futures for delivery in December went down 0.68 percent, or 11.55 dollars, to $1,697.55 per troy ounce. Crude oil for October delivery went up 0.05%, or $0.04, to $88.52 per barrel, while the November Brent oil contract went down 0.07%, or $0.07, to $94.03 per barrel.

AUD/USD stayed the same at 0.68, while AUD/JPY went up by 0.4% to 97.00.

The US Dollar Index Futures were up 0.12% at 109.50.
