Solved! The owner of the Axie Infinity SLP wallet has been identified.
The wallet that holds more than 22 billion of all of Axie Infinity’s Smooth Love Potion (SLP) coins has been traced to an address that belongs to Binance.
The wallet was first found out about by Axie Infinity player and tech co-founder Michael Benko, who was worried that the fact that it owned more than half of all the SLP in circulation could affect the game’s ecosystem.

In response to a Asian Trade article on the subject, Axie Infinity co-founder Jeff Zirlin confirmed on Twitter that the address is a “Binance Ronin gateway contract.”
Aleksander Larson, who helped start Sky Mavis and is now its chief operating officer, told Cointelegraph in the past that neither Sky Mavis nor Axie Infinity owned the wallet.
In the end, it was Zirlin who put the issue to rest by stating, “Let’s go on; thank you for helping to clarify the details around this. Indeed, it is a Binance Ronin gateway contract.
Benko told Asian Trade that he was happy with the outcome in the end because he got the information he wanted and a way to talk to Zirlin directly:
“Some really important opinion leaders […] attacked me on Twitter today, but I’m extremely proud of my first piece.” I also believe it would be beneficial for Sky Mavis to formally explain to the community what this wallet is. “They possess”
Before bringing the wallet to the attention of the public, Benko stated in a Twitter thread that he had previously reached out to Sky Mavis and others for an explanation but received no response.

Binance has made many connections to the Axie Infinity ecosystem, so users can move assets from the game to the exchange and back again.
The company has a long-standing collaboration with Axie and has aided the project in the past by providing a bridge for users to withdraw assets from the game when the Ronin Bridge was compromised in March and shut down.
