The COVID variant vaccine will be ready to ship in August, says the CEO of Moderna.
London (Reuters) – Moderna’s (NASDAQ: MRNA) COVID-19 variant vaccine will be ready to ship in August because the company has been making shots before getting approval, CEO Stephane Bancel told Reuters on Wednesday. He also said that the only thing holding up supply was a regulatory issue.
Bancel said in an interview, “Our goal is as early as August, since we’re going to file all the data in June, by the end of June.” Hopefully, the vaccine will be approved around August. “
“We can start shipping around the end of August. Some countries might be September, but that really depends on the rules. Because regulations are now the thing that slows things down. We are making the vaccine from a manufacturing point of view.”
