3  people have been arrested by the anti-corruption police.

JEDDAH: The Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority has put information about 13 corruption cases on its official Twitter account.

Financial and administrative corruption crimes, abuse of power, embezzlement, and money laundering are among the crimes that the authority, which is called Nazaha, said were among the crimes.

Here are four of the most well-known ones.

A person who lives in the Kingdom and works for a local company has been suspended for bribery because he sent money to his personal account outside the Kingdom in Switzerland.

There was a lot of bribery in Saudi Arabia. The manager of a foreign company paid SR 1,296,061 (about $346,000) to get a subcontract from the resident’s company, which also has a contract with a university in Saudi Arabia.

They also arrested five employees from the Ministry of Health for taking advantage of the power of public office, stealing money, and making up money.

They were caught taking SR 9,263,900 in the form of salaries and entitlements from foreign ministry employees who left the Kingdom when their contracts were up. They changed and added their own and their friends’ bank account numbers to get the money.

When a retired military pilot tried to get a job at the Ministry of Defense, Nazaha told him to leave. He was a major general in the Saudi Air Force.

The pilot was arrested for getting SR9,000,000 in instalments and a luxury car with an estimated value of SR500,000 from a resident who worked for a company that did business with the Air Force.

He took these bribes in exchange for speeding up the process of disbursing the company’s financial dues and making Air Force employees deposit the money from rented buildings into his bank account.

The person was working as a consulting engineer and a middleman in a city in one of the regions when he was arrested.

The authorities did some digging and found that he had been paid SR520,000 to help a business get a contract to do fake projects worth SR1,000,000 without actually doing them on the ground.

One of the people who was arrested also asked for SR500,000 out of the money that was found.
