The first public flight of a Chinese flying car takes place in Dubai.

DUBAI The first public flight of a “flying car” made by the Chinese company Xpeng Inc. (9868.HK) took place in the United Arab Emirates. The company is working on getting the electric aircraft ready for international markets.
The X2 is a two-seater electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) plane that is lifted by eight propellers, two at each corner of the vehicle.
The 90-minute test flight in Dubai on Monday without a person on board was called “important groundwork for the next generation of flying cars” by the company that made it.
The general manager of Xpeng AeroHt, Minguan Qiu, said, “We are making small steps toward the international market.” “First, we chose Dubai because it is the city with the most new ideas in the world.”
