In four years, the NAB has convicted 1,405 corrupt individuals.

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has released a four-year performance report from 2017 to 2021, overseen by the NAB’s current Chairman, Justice (R) Javed Iqbal.

According to official data, 1,405 accused were convicted in four years. Of those, 505 were convicted under NAB Section 10 and 900 were convicted under NAB Section 25B.

According to the NAB report, the highest number of convictions under Section 10 were given to 218 accused in NAB Karachi, 52 in Rawalpindi, 62 in Lahore, and 70 in Sukkur.

According to the report, 333 accused were convicted under NAB Section 25B in NAB Sukkur, 246 under Section 25B in Karachi, and 183 in Lahore, while 76 accused were convicted under NAB Section 25B in ongoing cases in NAB Rawalpindi.

Earlier, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal praised all ranks of NAB officers from Lahore and hoped for continued effective performance in accordance with the law in the future.

Justice (retd) Iqbal, who presided over a meeting to review NAB Lahore’s performance on Tuesday, stated that NAB Lahore’s excellent performance contributed significantly to NAB’s overall performance.

He stated that the NAB’s top priority is to bring mega corruption white-collar crime cases to a logical conclusion. He stated that NAB’s faith is in a corruption-free Pakistan, and that all NAB officers are working with renewed vigour and dedication, viewing corruption eradication as a national duty.
