LONDON (Reuters) – Britain’s unemployment rate dropped to its lowest since 1974 at 3.7 percent in the first three months of this year, official numbers revealed on Tuesday, below experts’ estimates for it to keep constant at 3.8 percent .
Average wages, excluding bonuses, were 4.2 percent higher than a year earlier in the three months to March, exceeding the average prediction in a Reuters poll for pay growth to stay at 4.1 percent .
