Tuesday that the Biden administration plans to put Yangtze Memory Technologies (YMTC) and 35 other Chinese companies on a trade blacklist that would stop them from buying certain American parts.
The Chinese companies will be added to a list called “Entity List” by the U.S. Department of Commerce as soon as this week, a report said, citing a person who knows about the matter.
Once a company is added to the entity list, its U.S. suppliers must get a special licence to ship even low-tech items to it.

YMTC didn’t want to say anything, and when Reuters asked the U.S. Department of Commerce for a comment after business hours, they didn’t answer right away.
In prepared remarks seen by Reuters last month, a U.S. Commerce Department official said that dozens of other Chinese companies, including YMTC, were “at risk” of being added to a trade blacklist as soon as Dec. 6.
In October, YMTC was added to a list of 31 companies that U.S. officials haven’t been able to inspect, which made things worse with Beijing.
