Friday’s gains were led by gold, A-REITs, and utilities.

Sydney’s S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.81 percent to a 1-month high.

St Barbara Ltd (ASX: SBM) closed at 1.13, up 9.76% or 0.10 points.Polynovo Ltd (ASX:PNV) rose 8.61% or 0.13 points to 1.64 and EML Payments Ltd (ASX:EML) gained 8.25% or 0.08 points to 1.05 in the late afternoon.

Zip Co Ltd (ASX: ZIP) fell 25.33%, or 0.38 points, to close at 1.14.Nuix Ltd (ASX: NXL) fell 3.17% or 0.02 points to 0.61, while Pointsbet Holdings Ltd (ASX: PBH) fell 10.92% or 0.39 points to 3.18.

The Sydney Stock Exchange had 865 rising stocks, 541 falling, and 343 stable.

The VIX of the S&P/ASX 200 increased 0.35 percent to 15.30.

Gold futures for August rose 0.71 percent, or $12.50, to $1,762.80 per ounce.Crude oil for September delivery increased 1.72 percent to $98.08 a barrel, while October Brent oil rose 1.54 percent to $103.40 a barrel.

AUD/USD remained at 0.46, while AUD/JPY dipped to 93.25.

The US Dollar Futures contract fell 0.57 percent to 105.64.
