The scoreboard of no-confidence votes against Prime Minister Imran Khan has been made public.

ISLAMABAD: Marriyum Aurangzeb, a spokeswoman for the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), revealed a list of people who would vote against Prime Minister Imran Khan’s no-confidence motion on Saturday.

84 members of the PML-N, 56 members of the PPP, 14 members of the MMA, 6 members of the MQM, 2 members of the PML-Q, one member of the ANP, 4 members of the BNP, 1 member of the JWP, 2 members of the PML-Q, and four independent candidates will vote against Imran Khan, according to Aurangzeb’s list.

A no-confidence vote against Prime Minister Imran Khan was one of six things on the agenda for today (Saturday). Speaker Asad Qaiser was in charge of the session.

Shehbaz Sharif  Address

Shehbaz Sharif addressed the floor, pleading with the speaker to conduct the vote in compliance with the Supreme Court’s ruling. “You cannot discuss any other agenda,” he said.

He said that even though the government agreed with the idea of need, the court buried it and overturned Imran Khan and Qasim Suri’s efforts.

Pakistan Muslim League-N President Asif Ali Zardari said that the parliament will constitutionally defeat “the pick.” “Today, the parliament will write a new chapter in history,” he said.

The NA speaker responded by stating that they could not ignore international conspiracy concerns.

According to the opposition leader, the delay in voting might result in more political issues. He thought that the speaker had to start the meeting and do the House’s business quickly.

Asad Qaiser said that the House will strictly adhere to the supreme court’s judgment.

The Response of FM Qureshi

On this occasion, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said on this occasion that the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) administration desired a democratic and constitutional resolution to the no-confidence motion. “It is the opposition’s prerogative to bring the no-trust resolution,” he said, adding that they had never violated the constitution and had no intention of doing so in the future.

“I want to convey to the people that it is our job to uphold the constitution. Pakistan’s history is replete with instances of constitutional transgressions, and October 12, 1999, is one of them, “he remarked, alluding to the coup attempt against former Chief of Army Staff General (retd) Pervez Musharraf.

He said that, given the country’s present political scenario, the prime minister dissolved the assembly to let the people determine the country’s political destiny.

The prime minister said that although he was dissatisfied with the Supreme Court’s decision to dissolve parliament, he accepted it.

Because they said that they wouldn’t accept the Supreme Court’s decision if it was based on the theory of necessity, the leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party and the leader of the Pakistan Democratic Movement both got a lot of flak from him.

Qureshi said, “It is critical to investigate the worldwide plot against the country, and the National Security Council (NSC) is also aware of the threat letter.”

The foreign minister remembered that the National Security Council had classified the threat letter as a serious and sensitive subject and described it as an attempt to meddle in Pakistan’s domestic affairs. He said that demarches were also sent in response to the NSC’s announcement.

Imran Khan Is Continuing To Remain Absent From The Assembly

Imran Khan was not present for the NA session, although around 50 members of the treasury bench were. The meeting has been postponed till 12:30 p.m.

Rangers and FC officials have been deployed as Islamabad’s security has been heightened. The NA’s authorities said that voting will go place in accordance with the Supreme Court’s decision.

Order of the Supreme Court

On April 7, the Supreme Court found the deputy speakers’ order to be unconstitutional and reinstated the National Assembly that had been broken up.

There was no way the National Assembly could be adjourned without a vote of no confidence in the speaker. The court ruled that Imran Khan and President Arif Alvi’s actions were thrown out.

The court had ordered that the legislature reconvenes on Saturday, (April 9) to vote on a motion of no confidence. Additionally, it has been directed to ensure that the voting process is free of obstructions.
