SSGC is trying to get gas back in Balochistan.

According to a release, the first Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) convoy has left towards Bibi Nani, Bolan, since the water level has improved and decreased significantly.

It was noted that the first trailer carrying equipment and machinery had successfully arrived at the site under the protection of Balochistan’s local authorities.

Also, two other convoys with more pipes, tools, and machinery are on their way to the broken pipeline and should get there by Tuesday evening.

The riverbed is currently being measured to see if it can support the equipment and machinery that have arrived at the site, so that restoration work can begin.

At a meeting on August 29, 2022, Balochistan Chief Secretary Abdul Aziz Uqaili convened a mandatory emergency meeting at which a plan of action was agreed.

Since the Bibi Nani Pipeline distributes gas from Shikarpur to Quetta, the SSGC’s transmission crews have dispatched line walkers along the pipeline from Sibi to Bibi Nani to check that the flood has not caused any other ruptures.

Another team of line walkers will look at the pipeline from Quetta to Bibi Nani so that an accurate assessment of the pipeline’s current condition can be made.

This evaluation was conducted so that repair work may be commenced concurrently if other ruptures are discovered down the line.

The SSGC crews will work like they’re in a war zone 24 hours a day, seven days a week to make sure the gas supply is back on as soon as possible in the affected areas.

Related: Starting tomorrow, CNG supplies will be interrupted once again.

SSGC is in close contact with the local government of Balochistan and with Chief Secretary Uqaili, and they would like to thank them for their help during this very hard time.

Once more, SSGC regrets the inconvenience to its customers.
