LAHORE: Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi complimented Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Shah Afridi on Friday for a “superb show of leadership” as the host team advanced to the Pakistan Super League final for the seventh time.
On Friday, David Wiese’s heroics in the last over against Islamabad United earned Lahore Qalandars a six-run win in the tournament’s second eliminator.
The match between the two teams was a nail-biting see-saw battle, with both sides refusing to give up until the last whistle. The game was one of the most exciting in the history of the PSL.
People who were at the game between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United saw Boom Boom Afridi and his friends on Twitter.
“Today, I was fortunate enough to see one of the finest matches in PSL history. Congratulations on a well-earned victory, Lahore Qalandars! “‘He said.

Afridi also lauded Shaheen’s leadership during the PSL 7 and wished the finalists luck.
“Shaheen led his team well throughout the event. Best of luck to both final teams! ” He wrote.
The Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars will square off on Sunday for the PSL 7 championship.
Shahid Afridi said in December that Shaheen Afridi didn’t listen to him when he told her not to take the leadership job.
Afridi had said during a segment on a private television channel: “I recommended Shaheen delay assuming the leadership for a year or two to allow him to concentrate on his bowling.” However, as an Afridi, he did not listen to me.
“Having said that, I’m glad he’s chosen to take this responsibility and hope he proves me wrong. ” As previously said by the former captain.
