(Reuters) – Senator Chris Van Hollen of the United States said on Sunday that he had a small stroke after feeling pain while making a speech in Western Maryland.
According to a statement, Van Hollen, 63, was brought to a hospital in Washington after feeling dizziness and severe neck discomfort.
He said that an angiography showed that the stroke caused a small vein to break at the back of his head, but he was told that it wouldn’t hurt him in the long run.
John Fetterman, the lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania, said earlier today that he had had a stroke but was “on the road to a complete recovery.”
(The age of Van Hollen is corrected in paragraph 2).
