Karachi: Pakistani President Dr. Arif Alvi said Monday that producing tyres in the country will help curb smuggling.
At the opening of a tyre plant in Karachi, he said that he was pleased with the rise in investment in Karachi.
The president said that the plant was established as a result of collaboration between Chinese and Pakistani businessmen.
Dr Reza Baqir, Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, said on the occasion that the State Bank of Pakistan had launched the ‘Temporary Refinance Economic Facility‘ to stimulate economic activity in the nation and that loans to small businesses were being prioritised under the plan.
He said that the nation has made a number of initiatives to attract investment and enhance exports via value addition.
The SBP governor said that loans to small businesses are being prioritised via commercial banks in order to stimulate economic activity in the nation. He said that the facility was projected to generate yearly exports of $300 million.
On March 11, Arif Alvi encouraged the area’s young to engage in tourism and hospitality industries, emphasising the tremendous potential of tourism in Swat.
President: During a meeting with Adnan Ali, the head of the Swat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he said that jobs could be made by taking advantage of tourism.
He also emphasized the need of educating youngsters in hospitality, hotel management, and restaurant management.
